Angels Are Among Us

Luke 1:26-35 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, (27) To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. (28) And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. (29) And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. (30) And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. (31) And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. (32) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (33) And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (34) Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? (35) And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

The photo above is one of my favorites of my fine art photography.  When I see a likeness, such as a statue, of an angel, I think of peace and the sense of being protected.  There are angels among us who guide us and help us.  There have been many good and bad angels through history, as you can read about in the Bible, but one angel, who had one of the most important jobs to do was Gabriel, and the message that he had to deliver to Mary the mother of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer.  The above verses tell the story.  A very important message, told by an angel, about the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Praise our great God for this important message and the very important birth that will save us from eternal death in Hell, if we only believe in Jesus and accept Him as our Savior.

  1. Hi Eva:

I can testify that my wife and I believe to have seen an angel on our first date. This strange but pleasant looking old lady had planted the loves in our hearts for each other that will be forever. As this strange old lady approached us, she had this wonderful smile on her face and she asked, “Are you too married?” We just said, “No” and we walked on. Not more than 7 steps, we turned around and this woman was no where in sight. She could not have disappeared so fast in an area with so much open space. So I believed at that time that my wife is God’s gift to me. Through the various signs and wonders in my life I have seen bad angels as well. I believe good and bad angels teach us about God’s love of us and why we need Christ for salvation.

    Blessings,
    Paul

  2. Absolutely, what a sweet memory to be cherished by you and your wife. Our Great God works in strange ways :) I know that my husband Rob and I have had some very unusual events happen to us too, where I feel that God had His angels working around us.

    God Bless you,
    Eva
